The WHO Project
This website was made by two students in an 8th grade advanced language arts class, Sofia Davydok and Arshia Mohapatra. It is a part of a project that was assigned to us, the Warriors Helping Outsiders project- otherwise known as the WHO project.
The purpose of the WHO was to design an element to help a minority, or Outsider, group.
At the beginning of this process, we went through many ideas and failed plans before finally deciding on creating a fund/awareness raiser event to help kids and teens struggling with depression and anxiety.
A big influence on our decision to focus on this Outsider group was seeing so many others our age feeling the need to speak up and get help, but not knowing where to start to get their voices heard.
And this is how we realized what is needed for middle and high schoolers who can't afford the treatment they need- to be heard and understood by adults and mentors, so that the process of improvement in the mental health advocate community can begin.
